Program Goals
The goals of the program are:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of constitutional law: Students will study constitutional principles, institutions, and doctrines that shape the legal framework of a state. They will analyze the separation of powers, the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms, the relationship between the state and its citizens, and the role of constitutional courts in interpreting and enforcing the constitution.
- Explore administrative law and public institutions: Students will examine the legal principles and procedures that govern administrative agencies and public institutions. They will study topics such as administrative decision-making, administrative procedures, regulatory frameworks, accountability mechanisms, and the legal relationship between the administration and individuals or organizations.
- Analyze legal aspects of public policy: Students will explore the intersection of law and public policy. They will examine the legal tools and frameworks used in designing, implementing, and evaluating public policies. They will analyze the role of law in addressing public policy challenges, such as social justice, environmental protection, healthcare, education, and public safety.
- Study legal dimensions of public governance: Students will gain insights into the legal aspects of public governance, including the legal framework for public administration, public finance, and public procurement. They will examine legal principles related to transparency, accountability, integrity, and ethical conduct in the public sector. They will also explore the role of law in promoting good governance practices.
- Understand legal issues in public international law: Students will explore the legal principles and frameworks governing the relationships between states, international organizations, and individuals in the international arena. They will study topics such as international human rights law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, and the legal aspects of global governance and diplomacy.
- Develop legal research and analytical skills: Students will acquire advanced research skills and methodologies necessary for conducting independent legal research in the field of public law. They will learn how to critically evaluate legal literature, analyze legal cases and statutes, and apply legal reasoning and argumentation.
