- Develop a comprehensive understanding of public health: Students will gain in-depth knowledge of the core principles, theories, and concepts of public health, including epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health sciences, health policy and management, social and behavioral sciences, and global health.
- Analyze and interpret public health data: Students will acquire advanced skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation. They will learn how to apply epidemiological and statistical methods to assess health risks, investigate disease outbreaks, evaluate public health programs, and inform evidence-based decision-making.
- Design and implement effective public health interventions: Students will learn to develop, implement, and evaluate public health interventions and programs aimed at promoting health, preventing diseases, and improving population health outcomes. They will gain skills in program planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Understand the social and behavioral determinants of health: Students will explore the social, cultural, economic, and behavioral factors that influence health and health disparities. They will learn how to develop strategies to address social determinants of health and promote health equity in diverse populations.
- Analyze health policy and management issues: Students will examine the organization, financing, and delivery of healthcare systems, as well as health policy development, implementation, and evaluation. They will gain an understanding of healthcare management principles and explore strategies to improve healthcare quality and access.
- Conduct research in public health: Students will develop research skills and competencies necessary for conducting independent research in public health. They will learn research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation techniques. They will also explore ethical considerations in public health research.
- Explore global health challenges: Students will examine global health issues, including infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, and health systems strengthening. They will explore the impact of globalization, health disparities, and socio-economic factors on global health outcomes.
